DIY table runner and a bird house

Hello readers!hope every one had a wonderful weekend.I just fed my 14 month old and am having my morning coffee now. While i'm blogging Sid is busy in grabbing a candle (don't worry i'm watching him:)  ).He is more interested with the things around than his toys(i know what every mom says now).As it was a long weekendand living in California  ,we did not dare to plan a vacation with a baby. So,we spent our time on some shopping, baking some healthy goodies, sleeping, and most of all spent some quality time with family .And watched fireworks too.Sid was pointing at those fireworks high in the sky and we were happy looking at him.    I also did my favorite DIY table runner.

Freshflowers ,my lovely ipad and morning coffee(the mug and spoon are from a Little tokyo ,Losangeles)

View from my apartment balcony.Love those Bamboo wind chimes(makes less sound than the regular ones)
Little bird house.Have another one too will post pics soon.

View from my kitchen window.i made those yellow flowers with post-its and stuck them to twigs(free of cost). My ipod and bose speaker were gifts from friends after marriage.Always love some music while cooking :-)

decorating with Buddha

This is my first post on "apinchoftradition".Even though this might look common in many homes ,this means a lot to me. V and I love and respect Buddha so much that we named our son Siddharth.I was looking to buy small buddha statue since many days. But i couldn't find something that i liked .I was dreaming about a white one.White=pure .Like Buddha's heart.I finally found an ivory colored Buddha. But thats ok with me.i love it so much.
That  is a traditional/modern 4 piece art(will post more painting pics soon)

I used a dark brown rattan plant stand to display buddha.
This is how i'm using a part of the large wall in my living room(besides that we have TV)
