DIY table runner and a bird house

Hello readers!hope every one had a wonderful weekend.I just fed my 14 month old and am having my morning coffee now. While i'm blogging Sid is busy in grabbing a candle (don't worry i'm watching him:)  ).He is more interested with the things around than his toys(i know what every mom says now).As it was a long weekendand living in California  ,we did not dare to plan a vacation with a baby. So,we spent our time on some shopping, baking some healthy goodies, sleeping, and most of all spent some quality time with family .And watched fireworks too.Sid was pointing at those fireworks high in the sky and we were happy looking at him.    I also did my favorite DIY table runner.

Freshflowers ,my lovely ipad and morning coffee(the mug and spoon are from a Little tokyo ,Losangeles)

View from my apartment balcony.Love those Bamboo wind chimes(makes less sound than the regular ones)
Little bird house.Have another one too will post pics soon.

View from my kitchen window.i made those yellow flowers with post-its and stuck them to twigs(free of cost). My ipod and bose speaker were gifts from friends after marriage.Always love some music while cooking :-)

DIY table runner

I used my old dupatta for this. This material is know as 'Mangalagiri Cotton' easily available in Andhra Pradesh. When ever i wear a Mangalagiri cotton dress it always reminds me of teenage. Most of the teenage girls in Andhra love to wear these dresses for college all the year long.Best way to beat the heat!

I folded my dupatta according to the design and stiched it without loosing the folds and painted with some antique gold colored acrylic.
My coffee table right now has a tray and elephant box setting.I don't know how it would change next.

I got that elephant at a discount store(discount stores are best ways to find some unique decor items) it is actually a box.I've put some sctoch tape to it so that Sid can't open it :-))
